The D&I Soundbite Series

The ‘D&I Soundbite Series’ is a collection of 30 minute lightning talks on engaging and relevant D&I topics and themes linked to resources developed by the DCU Centre of Excellence for Diversity and Inclusion. Experts will touch on topics such as Unconscious Bias, Race Equality in the Workplace and Inclusive Hiring for Neurodiversity with short presentations and a live Q&A session. To mark International Pronouns Day on 20th October 2021, Emma Loo, Marketing and Comms Research Assistant in the DCU Centre of Excellence for Diversity will explore pronoun usage, gender identity and expression. Moderated by Linda Gloria Keitasha, Programme Coordinator, this Soundbite will provide tips for creating LGBTQI+ inclusive workplaces and how you can be an active ally.

Dr. Kim Connick presented the first session of ‘The D&I Soundbite Series’ last month discussing ‘The Hidden Disadvantage – the 10th Ground; A look at the need for socioeconomic diversity in the workplace’. Kim discussed the roadblocks to Higher Education and into the workplace for different socioeconomic groups and the importance of fostering socioeconomic diversity in the workplace.
